  • The New Superman Movie was Pretty Good

The New Superman Movie was Pretty Good

Superman (2025) came out a few weeks ago, and I recently rewatched it with my sister. I liked it just as much as I watched it the first time, and a lot of it came from how hopeful and optimistic it is. Superman always tries to do the right thing, no matter how hard it is, and he never gives up hope. Even when everyone around him basically calls him naive and idealistic, he refuses to give up being a hero.

This is the kind of thing that made me want to make this blog in the first place. Dusk makes me so happy and hopeful that I wanted to share them with the world, and Superman genuinely gave me the same emotion. After Man of Steel’s much more cynical and dark interpretation of the hero, I am more than happy with James Gunn’s new take on him.

Anyway, that’s it for this blog! If you want your own Blåhaj to watch movies with, you can get one here! And I’m not sponsored by IKEA, I just really like their sharks.

And I don’t like asking for donations, but if you can afford to give anything, please do it here! Every cent goes straight to the blog, and I’d love for the website to keep growing so that more people can see Dusk! Anyway, thanks for reading! If you have any thoughts on the hat or if you have any of your own funny hats that you’d like to talk about, tell me in the comments below!

Fish Want Dusk; Women Fear Him

Depending on how you found this website, you’ve probably seen Dusk in this hat. It’s probably one of the more popular ads that I’ve made for this website, and I’ve always really liked this picture. It’s simple, it’s funny, and it gives a lot of information about Dusk.

For a quick backstory, I initially got this hat as one of two possible gifts for my friend Monky (the other gift being the normal, inverse version of the hat). She picked the normal version, so I kept this funny version. I didn’t have Dusk yet at this point, and once I got Dusk, one of the first photos I took of him was him in this hat, and that’s the photo you see above. It’s a funny hat, and although I don’t wear it often, I like keeping Dusk in the hat since it gives character.

Anyway, that’s it for this blog! If you want your own Blåhaj to take funny photos with, you can get one here! And I’m not sponsored by IKEA, I just really like their sharks.

  • Dusk’s Labubu Friend!

    Dusk’s Labubu Friend!

So Labubus seem to be the next big thing, so here’s Dusk with a Labubu! It’s actually my sister’s, who hasn’t bothered naming or gendering her Labubu, so we won’t name it either.

My friend group has a fairly mixed reception to Labubus to say the least, but to be honest, I don’t really care about them. I don’t love them, but I don’t hate them, either. To be frank, they just seem to be the next popular fad that people are interested in, so I don’t have any strong emotions either way. What I will say is that they’ve gotten far too popular and commercialized. Apparently, the story behind my sister getting her Labubu was that her coworker offered her the blind box for $40, which is far above market value. My sister, being the master negotiator that she is, haggled it down to $20. Maybe it was just one person being greedy, but to me, it seems silly for something like this to become a victim of scalping. But still, Dusk seems to like the Labubu, so I won’t judge too harshly.

Anyway, that’s it for this blog! If you want your own Blåhaj to take care of, you can get one here! And I’m not sponsored by IKEA, I just really like their sharks.

  • Caring for Dusk: A Guide to Managing Seasonal Allergies

Caring for Dusk: A Guide to Managing Seasonal Allergies

Like many humans, Dusk has seasonal allergies. For half the year, Dusk does nothing except sneeze, cough, and sniff up snot. She suffers greatly the entire time, and I feel nothing but sympathy for Dusk during this time.

As you can see in the picture above, I have to blow Dusk’s nose for her all the time because she has no hands to do so herself. It’s a thankless job, but I’ll do anything I can to keep her happy.

    Dusk and cough drops

And I also have to spend a boatload of money on cough drops for Dusk. She downs these things like there’s no tomorrow, and they only barely help her stop coughing. But still, anything is fine as long as she’s happy!

Anyway, that’s it for this blog! Again, I know it was short, but I might keep these posts at about this length from this point on since I don’t think that Dusk really wants y’all to spend too much time reading about it. If you want your own Blåhaj to take care of, you can get one here! And I’m not sponsored by IKEA, I just really like their sharks.

  • Dusk’s Friend: The Critter

    Dusk’s Friend: The Critter

So a bit of a shorter post today, but I wanted to share one of Dusk’s friends, even though I don’t have many pictures of it with Dusk. The lovely creature you see in the featured image is one that I simply refer to as the Critter. The Critter was a gift that my friend Ash gave to me as a graduation gift! Apparently, the story behind it is that Ash bought it from an airport in Japan during a fencing trip, and she had it for a couple of years. Eventually, once I graduated, Ash decided to give me the Critter, so thank you for that!

The Critter doesn’t have a real name or pronouns, and honestly, I think I’m happy with that. It’s probably my only plushie that’s technically unnamed, with Critter only really being a nickname. The lack of a name makes it feel more unique in that way, and I’ll always remember Ash as the one who gave it to me <3.

Anyway, it’s gotten along well with Dusk! It’s not one of Dusk’s best friends, but still- Dusk loves all plushies! As of right now, the Critter simply hangs out in my room, with Dusk occasionally hanging out with it when they run into each other.

Anyway, that’s it for this blog! If you want your own Blåhaj to keep your critters a little less lonely, you can get one here!

If you have any thoughts on the Critter or if you have any ideas for what Dusk should do with it, tell me in the comments below!

  • Dusk’s Adventures with Lacey the Plushie

Dusk’s Adventures with Lacey the Plushie

Next up on the saga of Dusk’s friends is Lacey! You might have heard of Lacey from Lacey’s Flash Games– a popular horror series on YouTube by ghosttundra. Well, this is the same one! After quite a bit of trouble with Makeship, I got an official Lacey plushie, and she’s been pretty good friends with Dusk!

As you can see from the above image, she’s the perfect size to ride Dusk! He might be way bigger than her, but her floppy legs fit perfectly on top of him, so Lacey and Dusk are perfect together.

A bit too perfect together, though, since Dusk has since developed a tiny crush on Lacey…

    Dusk rizzing Lacey up

It was a noble attempt, but Lacey ultimately turned down Dusk… Maybe next time, though!

Anyway, that’s it for this blog! And if you haven’t noticed, I’m going to try to post on the somewhat consistent schedule of Mondays and Fridays at 9AM CST, so stay tuned for the next post! And If you want your own Blåhaj to play with your other plushies, you can get one here!

• Dusk’s First Adventure Touching Grass

    Dusk’s First Adventure Touching Grass

So, fun fact about Dusk: I really like taking him outside! Not that much, though, since it’s really embarrassing to carry a giant stuffed shark around- no offense, Dusk! So here are some pics of him going outside with me!

The featured image is Dusk touching grass for the first time! I think that this genuinely was the first time that Dusk ever went outside. When I first got Dusk from my friend, he was in her box for the entire journey back home, so even if Dusk technically was outside, he never actually saw the outside world. So once I realized that Dusk had never actually been outside before, the first thing I did was take him outside to take pictures of him in the grass. The sun shining down on Dusk, and the bright green color of the grass was such a nice experience for him. Then I immediately brought him back inside because I didn’t want him to get dirty- baby steps, right?

    Dusk’s First Snow Day

A few months later, it finally started snowing. It snows a lot at Ithaca (where I went to school), so you know I had to show Dusk the snow at least once. Here, Dusk is just lying in the cold snow for the first time. It was a relatively light snow day, so I wasn’t too scared of the snow ruining Dusk or anything. He ended up a little wet because of it, but since when has a little bit of snow and water killed a shark?

    Dusk on the Bus-k

Last photo is me and Dusk on the bus. I was going to a friend’s party, and I decided to bring Dusk along since I liked sending pictures of him to my friends, and he was a bit of a celebrity among them. The bus ride was genuinely so embarrassing. I’m not ashamed of Dusk by any means, but you gotta understand that carrying a giant IKEA stuffed shark around isn’t exactly inconspicuous, so people kept stealing glances at me when they got on or off the bus.

Still, though, I had a lot of fun bringing Dusk along, and he met a lot of other plushies (which I’ll show at a different time)! Everyone loves Dusk, and everyone loves snuggling up with him, so once I get past the embarrassment of carrying Dusk around in public, it’s a lot of fun.

So, anyway, the moral of the story? Go touch grass. If this inanimate shark mascot can do it and have fun, then so can you! Things might be a bit scary or embarrassing at first, but it’s worth it! Go outside and have fun with other people, just like Dusk can! And if you have any photos of your plushies going outside, feel free to share them! I’d love to see your stuffed animals having fun too, and if you want your own blåhaj, you can get one here!

  • Meet Dusk: The Emotional Support Shark!

Meet Dusk: The Emotional Support Shark!

Hi, I’m Doan (not to be confused with Hatsune Miku)! And the little shark you see is Dusk, my emotional support shark. Dusk has been with me for a little less than a year now, but Dusk has genuinely saved my life. We’ve been through a lot together, and I’d like to share those times with the world (and I also need some projects on my resume, so…). On a daily (or near daily) basis, I’m going to post some photos of Dusk, and I’ll tell the stories behind them, like how we made a world-renowned sauce (not really) or how Dusk fights crime with his laser eyes (also not really). This is gonna be a fairly comfy blog, so snuggle up and get ready to meet Dusk! If you have any thoughts, feel free to ask them, and if you want your own IKEA blåhaj, you can get one here!
